Mourinho: There will never be another Cristiano Ronaldo

The Chelsea boss was effusive in his praise for his countryman, saying there will not be a player like him again, and compared the 29-year-old to Zinedine Zidane
Chelsea trainer Jose Mourinho says there will never be another player like Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese coach made headlines in September when he revealed that he does not have a personal relationship with the star, following the former's departure from the Spanish capital in 2013.

But the 51-year-old has now praised the goalscoring exploits of his countryman, who has 13 La Liga goals in just six appearances this term, and likened him to Zinedine Zidane.

"Ronaldo's an incredible player,” the two-time Champions League-winning coach told Telefoot.

"It's like Zidane for you [the French], there will be no other. He is incredible, he’s a goalscoring machine."

The Blues boss also revealed that he remains an ardent admirer of Raphael Varane but concedes the chances of luring him from Real Madrid are slim.

Varane was handed his Madrid debut by Mourinho in September 2011 and has since gone on to establish himself as arguably the outstanding young defender in world football, as well as becoming a senior France regular.

And while the Chelsea trainer hinted he would jump at the chance to bring Varane to Stamford Bridge, he does not expect the Champions League winners to part with their prized youngster.

"I Like Varane, but everybody knows that he will stay at Real Madrid," said Mourinho.

"France has a lot of good players like Varane, Pogba, Benzema and Lloris. They can win Euro 2016. I have a lot of respect for Deschamps. In the World Cup, we saw a great French team."
