Countless fans will be flying into Sao Paulo/Congonhas Airport ahead of the 20th FIFA World Cup™ - and a breathtaking sight will greet them in the lobby.
Brazilian artist Paulo Consentino is pictured painting a mural of Cristiano Ronaldo, Mario Balotelli, Andres Iniesta, Franck Ribery, Lionel Messi and Neymar.
Consentino, who has often done futebol-themed work and did a stunning design in the dressing room and players’ tunnel at Brazilian club Santos, has also decorated the walls of the airport with a series of images. They include Zagallo and Carlos Alberto parading the Trophy as they get off the plane on their return from Mexico 1970, Bebeto and Romario performing that baby-cradling rendition at USA 1994, and a funky-haired Ronaldo celebrating a goal against Germany in the Korea/Japan 2002 Final.
The Arena de Sao Paulo will host the Opening Match between Brazil and Croatia, as well as Uruguay-England, Netherlands-Chile, Korea Republic-Belgium in the group stage, one Round of 16 game and the second semi-final. If you are passing through Sao Paulo/Congonhas Airport to see one of those games, or en route to another of the 12 venues, be sure to check out Consentino’s masterpieces.-FIFA.COM
