Moghred Tetouan beat Renaissance Sportive de Berkan 2-1 on Sunday to win the Moroccan league (Botola Pro) title for the second time in the club's history and in doing so qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup Morocco 2014 as the Host Club. Abdelmoula Hardoumi was the hero for Tetouan, scoring two goals for the hosts.
Berkan's Lahcen Akhmiss reduced the deficit with nine minutes to go but Tetouan were able to hold on for the win and the league title, their first since their maiden triumph in 2012. Storied Moroccan side Raja Casablanca were title favourites headed into the final week but lost to Safi, handing the title to Tetouan in the process.
Tetouan join Cruz Azul, from CONCACAF, OFC champions Auckland City and Real Madrid, who beat Atletico Madrid to win the UEFA Champions League on Saturday at Morocco 2014, which will take place from 10-20 December. Tetouan will have the difficult task to do better on the world stage than Raja, who reached the final but lost to Bayern Munich 2-0 in the 2013 edition of the competition.-FIFA.COM
